Detention Officer Job Task Analysis

The Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy welcomes you to our website. WLEA is the only state law enforcement training facility in Wyoming. You can find information here regarding our Basic Programs section which directs basic training for peace officers, detention officers, communications and coroners.

Special Programs also oversees the Homeland Security Training Program as a partnership with the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security. This program provides awareness level training on Weapons of Mass Destruction for all of Wyoming's first responders.

If you are currently exploring a career in law enforcement, our pre-service training program may be of interest to you. This program is a tuition-based training program that enables qualified applicants the opportunity to attend a basic training program.
