Course Summary

This 3 day course will show students first-hand how criminal patrol techniques can yield large and small drug and other type arrests from traffic stops and other legal contacts with people regardless of age, sex, race, gender or any other class or designation. Students will learn current search and seizure laws, identify legal traffic stops and interview techniques. A portion of the class will include hands-on searching of vehicles set up for students to find dozens of “hides” containing currency, drugs and weapons.

Course Requirements

This course is offered free of charge to currently certified Wyoming Peace Officers. Course costs for Wyoming Officers are being provided through OET funds. Course fee of $400.00 for Out of State Officers includes room and meals at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy. If this course reaches registration capacity, preference will be given to Wyoming officers. Maximum number of students for this course is 30.

This course will be held at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy, 1556 Riverbend Drive in Douglas, WY.

Pricing for staying at the academy is $65/ Night (Double Occupancy) or $95/Night (Single Occupancy) (includes three meals)
If students only want meals they are available at a rate of $15 per day or $5 per meal.

HOUSING FOR ADVANCED TRAINING STUDENTS IS NOT GUARANTEED. Students will be notified of housing availability after the course registration deadline.
