This two-day course taught by members of DCI's State Crime Lab focuses on the scientific aspect of criminal investigations with special emphasis placed on crime scene techniques and the handling of physical evidence. Topics include rules and procedures for collecting, marking, and packaging physical evidence, priorities and procedures to process and document a crime scene, the basic requirements of crime scene photography, sketching a crime scene, latent fingerprints, and casts.
