Course Summary
The Dual Certification Course is only available to those with an active Wyoming Peace Officer Certification who wish to obtain a Detention Officer Certification as well.
Topics covered in the course include Use of Force, PREA, Body & Cell Searches, and Inmate Supervision. This is a hybrid course, with 59 hours of online learning, 11.5 hours of on-campus training, and and various practical activities conducted and evaluated by the agency

Special Instructions
Note for Training Coordinators: This course is offered in conjunction with Detention Officer Basic. When registering your officer for the Dual Certification Course, the dates listed on Acadis are the on-campus dates that your officer must be present for the DOB Use of Force Lecture and Practicals. Once your officer is enrolled in the course, they will receive the required information for the online learning. The online learning must be completed prior to the start date for the on-campus training.
