Course Summary

To provide the basic peace officer student with information at the awareness level regarding terrorism definitions, role of law enforcement, domestic and international groups, terrorism indicators and officer safety issues, as well as weapons of mass destruction. Identify how terrorists are a threat to law enforcement. Identify how the prevention of terrorism will impact law enforcement’s role in the future. Identify different types of domestic terrorist/extremist groups, including left wing, right wing, and special interest/single issue groups. Identify ideologies of, the activities engaged in, and the tactics used by different types of domestic/extremist groups.

Course Requirements

To receive Wyoming POST Credit, students must attend at least 90% of the course and actively participate.

Special Instructions

Dress attire for this course is business casual or agency uniform.

The WLEA dormitories will be under construction during this course. HOUSING FOR ADVANCED TRAINING STUDENTS IS NOT GUARANTEED. Students will be notified of housing availability after the course registration deadline.
