Course Summary
Rocky Mountain HIDTA, in conjunction with the Western Regional Counterdrug Training Center, present Operational Mindset. This class addresses the current high stress demands that face Law Enforcement Officers daily. Give specific tools, mitigation techniques and stress management techniques for LEO to address acute stress as it develops. A culmination of anatomy and physiology, sports science, de-escalation and force science techniques will be taught in a classroom setting. The day will finish with a familiarization of the VR system prior to practical exercises on day two. Utilization of Operator XR VR simulator to test practical application of the techniques taught. VR systems allows dynamic, rapid and continues scenario development. Each student will get a different look and feel to the scenarios presented. This allows for thousands of training options and observing students to get mental reps while observing. VR system also allows recordings for AAR after each scene is completed. VR system as a sketch tool that allows for the creation of any structure/room, multiple suspects, live roll player, additional partners, active shooter, force on force and much more.
Course Requirements
Must be an active registered law enforcement officer.
Special Instructions
This is a dual registration course. Please fill out registration with the vender and then complete registration on Acadis. For out of state students, complete registration with vender and then contact the WLEA at wlea@wyo.gov. There is no vendor fee or WLEA training fee for this course. Lodging & meals may be available on a first-come first-served basis at WLEA for a total of $65. Meals only are available at WLEA at a rate of $5 per lunch or $12 per day for all meals.
Equipment List
Note taking supplies. Dress attire is department training uniform. Students will need their vest for the VR portion of this course.
