Assisting Individuals In Crisis
Courses may be modified due to COVID-19 Restrictions
Crisis Intervention is NOT psychotherapy; rather, it is a specialized acute emergency
mental health intervention which requires specialized training. As physical first aid is to
surgery, crisis intervention is to psychotherapy. Thus, crisis intervention is sometimes
called “emotional first aid.” This program is designed to teach participants the
fundamentals of, and a specific protocol for, individual crisis intervention.
The cost of this course is being offset by OET funds. OET funds will cover the $230 course fee. Dorm rooms and meals will be available at WLEA at $150 per student.
For Non-OET the cost for the course is $230, plus $124 for room and meals.
