To introduce officers to the basic concepts of mental illness and how they might be able to effectively respond in such a call. Identify major categories of psychological disturbances as they relate to police intervention. Identify methods that can help improve the communication of officers as they relate to persons who may be mentally ill in an effort to lessen the probability of violence. Identify the provisions within Wyoming Statute 25-10-109, relating to Emergency Detention.
To receive Wyoming POST Credit, students must attend at least 90% of the course and actively participate.
