To provide students with the knowledge and the skills to understand cultural differences and behaviors that are unique to deaf and hard of hearing people and to take the appropriate steps to ensure that persons who are deaf and/or hard of hearing can communicate effectively with peace officers. Identify communication principles and strategies that both deaf and hearing individuals can use to ensure effective communication in law enforcement situations. Identify strategies for interactive writing between individuals that are deaf or hard of hearing and officers.
To receive Wyoming POST Credit, students must attend at least 90% of the course and actively participate.
