During this course, instructed by the US Marshal Service, students receive comprehensive and detailed information on a variety of aspects in court security utilizing a variety of training methods including practical, hands-on and simulated exercises. Topics include court security basics, in-custody defendant procedures, restraints and control, incident response and weapons control, explosive detection and response, contraband and weapons detection, screening tools, equipment and techniques, staffing guidelines, panic alarms and systems, judicial security procedures, building and perimeter security, jury handling procedures, high threat and high profile trials, emergency response plans, facility surveys and risk assessments, and trial planning.
To receive Wyoming POST credit students must attend at least 90% of the course and actively participate.
