Wyoming Peace Officer Memorial Remembers...

 

 

OFFICER: ALLAN ST. CLAIR     

DEPARTMENT: Wind River Agency/Bureau of Indian Affairs

DATE OF INCIDENT: October 3, 1965 

DETAILS: Officer St. Clair had stopped an intoxicated driver on U.S. Highway 287.  Upon approaching the  vehicle, the driver shot St. Clair in the upper abdomen area.  St. Clair returned the fire with six shots from his revolver; however, he was unable to stop the suspect.  Officer St. Clair died in surgery later in the day.  The suspect was later apprehended by other officers.
