DATE OF INCIDENT: October 13, 1998 

DETAILS:  Patrolman Logsdon died in a fatal car crash while responding to a report of a possibly intoxicated driver traveling south in the northbound lane on Interstate 25 approximately 10 miles north of Wheatland.  As Patrolman Logsdon was heading southbound, the suspect driver was now traveling northbound on the southbound side in the passing lane.  As Patrolman Logsdon topped a hill, he was confronted with the suspect driver and swerved his vehicle sharply to the right, where his vehicle flipped and rolled.  The driver of the suspect vehicle was apprehended a short time later.
