OFFICER:  THOMAS HARRIS    

DEPARTMENT:  Rock Springs Deputy Marshal

DATE OF INCIDENT:  March 18, 1915 

DETAILS:  Deputy Harris died of multiple gunshot wounds he had received six days earlier.  Deputy Harris received his wounds while attempting to apprehend Rafugia Angel.  Angel had earlier robbed the Fountain Saloon.  Angel was shot and wounded by other deputies at the scene.  Later Angel had to be secretly removed from the local jail because of a lynch mob that came after him.
