DATE OF INCIDENT: June 21, 1912 

DETAILS: Marshal Hansen had gone to the Peter Olsen ranch to investigate a ransom note demanding $1,500.00.  While at the ranch awaiting assistance from Uinta County Sheriff Ward, Hansen saw a man sneaking toward the house.  When Hansen ordered the man to halt, the suspect shot and wounded him.  He died the next day.
