DATE OF INCIDENT: February 21, 1945 

DETAILS: Officer Alderdice died February 21, 1945. Officer Alderdice responded to a disturbance at Byrd Apartments in Greybull. A struggle ensued with the suspect, and Officer Alderdice was thrown down a set of stairs suffering multiple jaw fractures, a skull fracture and internal injuries. Officer Alderdice insisted he was not badly hurt was escorted home by a caring citizen, where he received medical attention. Officer Alderdice died from his injuries the next day. The suspect plead guilty and was sentenced to 18-20 years.
