Working together with the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security, the Academy operates the Wyoming Homeland Security Training program. The program is responsible for the facilitation of training management for all U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office for Domestic Preparedness training programs.

Our Homeland Security Training Program coordinator has been appointed the ODP Point of Contact  for Wyoming and coordinates Homeland Security awareness, operations, technical, and specialized training for all first responder disciplines and schedule the courses funded and approved by the Office of Domestic Preparedness.

This program also maintains the Wyoming First Responder Training database and collects training records for all recognized first responder disciplines to maintain a current resource of responders. From the training database, qualified first responders are issued the Wyoming First Responder Identification card.

While our focus is mainly on providing WMD Awareness level training, such as the National AWR-160 Awareness Level Course for all responder disciplines, we are also active in training in terrorism prevention and indicators, critical incident management and personal protective equipment familiarization.
